Chromebooks in 5th Grade

Through the Title I grant, both 5th grade classrooms recently received classroom sets of Chromebooks. The Chromebooks will be housed in the classrooms for use with various projects. 5th grade also takes the Illinois Science Assessment online as well as the PARCC test online. Having equipment stored in the classroom and readily available to students and staff greatly reduces the issues and anxiety that can accompany online testing.

Students pictured are Mrs. Lindsay's students working through the PARCC tutorials. These tutorials enable students to practice on a test that looks and feels exactly like the actual test. Students are able to practice  both the academic parts of the test, as well a the technology portions, such as signing in, dragging and dropping answers, and working with sound where applicable.
