Brayden Cox, a junior at Neoga High School, had an outstanding cross country season this year.  Brayden ran his best time at 16:20 and made All Conference. He also advanced to Sectionals with the boys’ cross country team.  Brayden finished Sectionals in the high 17:00 minute mark. Although his season may not have ended  as he wanted, Cox has already set new goals for the upcoming track and cross country seasons.  In track, Brayden hopes to break 2:00 minutes and get All-State in the 800 meter dash. He also aims to win state in the 800. The Junior aspires to break the school record and run a 4:35 minute mile. Brayden is eager to run a 15:30 minute 3-mile and be recognized as an All-State runner in his next cross country season.

Brayden would love to have the opportunity to run cross country and track in college.  Cox describes college running as “passionate” and “competitive”--two things that drive his running.  Brayden’s drive to running is very unique. “I’m doing something others are not doing.” Brayden stated. “It’s also a mentally tough sport, and everything is on you.”  Cox also describes running as a great stress reliever and a way to make a difference. Brayden pushes himself to constantly get better, and he’s already begun training to reach his new goals.
